Please help a newbie, I’m not sure why my post was flagged or what to do.

    please-help-a-newbie-i-m-not-sure-why-my-post-was-flagged-or-what-to-do

I'm new to Steem, old to cryptos. My post was about a common newcomer question and how I respond to it. I used the question as my title. Someone with a lot of influence flagged my post and left an angry comment that my hypothetical was silly. I wholeheartedly agree with his comment, the question is silly. But none the less its a question I’ve been asked a lot over 5 years of pitching bitcoin to friends and family. I’ve seen Max Keiser talk about it, I’ve read it in many popular blogs in various ways. The post was nothing special, but still took me 20 mins or so to put together and comment on the first comments I received. I have replied to the person who flagged me and politely asked what I’ve done wrong and how to avoid it. . . Although before I understood he was actually angry, I made an earlier reply where I laughed along with the flagger’s comment about my silly title. Potentially pissing him off further incidentally. Also, at first I used an image of a book and lantern from Pinterest, but thinking that might have been the issue, switched it to an image from pixabay which I know is public domain. Honestly not sure if I did something against the rules, bad etiquette, that the person didn’t like my title, or they read it fully and just didn’t like my post altogether. Any help on how to proceed is greatly appreciated! :) 1) Should I further attempt to contact the person who flagged me and/or delete my potentially misconstrued comment? I’ve been able to see that they have moved on to other posts and didn’t reply to me. 2) Is it possible to spend money in some way to make my post visible again? I spent $100 worth of SBD on promotion that seemed to have no effect on views at all. Spent another $50 promoting this one in the hopes that some people with knowledge/influence can give me some tips. 3) Would It make sense to maybe alter my post a little and try to repost it? Ultimately this seems to me to be a bad option as I would not be contributing valuable content if I’m just repeating myself. Not sure if this is advisable and could make the influential person even angrier to attack other posts of mine. At then end of the day I really really want to use Steem and get into it, but its tough if things I spend time on aren’t visible. I can’t even share the flagged post on my other social media sites like I usually would. Im no scammer or spammer. I’ve been writing about cryptos for years on social media and would like to contribute thoughtful content. I'm passionate about cryptos and Steem! Thanks so much for any help or suggestions! :) :) :) My hidden post is here: https://steemit.com/bitcoin/@remistevens/what-happens-to-bitcoin-if-the-internet-is-shut-down ![animal-1239131_1920.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUGdd2BdFnsuyQrdL1Yp74PYAHvh8Ud5V153b1x5D6VAD/animal-1239131_1920.jpg)

Steemit Platform Switcher - a simple but useful tool!

    June 29, 2017

    Introducing the Steemit Platform Switcher

Chrome Extension that lets you switch between platforms in 2 clicks!

    ![post logo banner.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPHjau3twj7E5zZ2qx42WWAM7weqDrUqQGza5b2cXKtEL/post%20logo%20banner.png)
---- I am sure most of you have heard of the following common and useful platforms: chainbb, steemd and steemdb. The official steemit.com platform of course provides a very good interface for general use, but sometimes some of us may want to switch to chainbb to look at the comments in a forum-styled view, or to check detailed statistics of a post on steemd orsteemdb.
    ![post platforms.png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmc91BJRiCrtV5xnUyhqVAB4oJx76yb56pjdgCEwf3a1xS/post%20platforms.png)
(P.S. It seems that SteemDB and chainBB do not have any official logos. The logos shown above are designed by @stevenlwk) ---

    A small trick

Switching between these 4 platforms is not a convenient task; I used to do a lot of clickings before I can arrive at the corresponding platform. But soon I discovered a slightly more convenient trick: you can just edit the domain of the URL of the current page to jump to any other platforms! (If you already knew this trick, you may skip to the next section) For example, say I am browsing this post on steemit.com, which has a URL https://steemit.com/contest/@kenchung/free-steem-mathematics-programming-competition-2-2017624t152846454z. Observe the following table to see the corresponding links on these platforms: Platform | Link ---|--- Steemit| https://steemit.com/contest/@kenchung/free-steem-mathematics-programming-competition-2-2017624t152846454z chainBB| https://beta.chainbb.com/contest/@kenchung/free-steem-mathematics-programming-competition-2-2017624t152846454z SteemD| https://steemd.com/contest/@kenchung/free-steem-mathematics-programming-competition-2-2017624t152846454z SteemDB| https://steemdb.com/contest/@kenchung/free-steem-mathematics-programming-competition-2-2017624t152846454z It is not difficult to discover that the only difference between the URLs is their domain names. ---

    Our new tool

Using the little trick stated can save some time, but can still be quite annoying to change back and forth continuously. Thanks to the idea proposed by my friend @happychau123, we have developed a simple Chrome extension which makes platform switching just two clicks away! What the extension does is replacing the domain in the URL by your desired one. Now you have more time to create quality contents :)

Get Steemit Platform Switcher now on Chrome Web Store!

    Special Thanks to...

    - @happychau123 for raising this interesting idea! - @stevenlwk for providing beautiful graphical designs! - @jesta for creating chainBB, SteemD and SteemDB, all of these platforms are excellent! ---

    Known bugs

Some users reported abnormal behaviors of the extension. If you encounter a similar problem, try to switch to another tab and then switch back. This should solve most of the problems. We are working on it and will provide an update ASAP. ---

Indians have a tendency to not to go movie alone if it's not a blockbuster movie or if its not on the first day. So if you are going with your child and wanted an extra seat, you can book 2 seats in a 3 seat row with one seat as empty as shown below. http://imagehost7.online-image-editor.com/oie_upload/images/29122710YtghV7TMy/vwlXSEKEoUqC.jpg

India’s Finance Minister Holds Private Meeting On Bitcoin Regulation

    June 29, 2017
    india-s-finance-minister-holds-private-meeting-on-bitcoin-regulation-2017629t132710951z

![image](https://img.esteem.ws/c00wa36iff.jpg)Just recently Bitcoin.com reported that the Indian government was soon planning to regulate bitcoin and the use of virtual currencies within the country. Now according to local reports, India’s Finance Minister Arun Jaitley held a private inter-ministerial meeting to discuss risks and concerns related to bitcoin regulation. Also read: Indian Bitcoin Adoption Responds to Government Signalling for Regulation After Hearing Public Opinion Indian Bureaucrats Meet Privately to Discuss Bitcoin Regulation Risks and Benefits Many bitcoin proponents are focused on India as they believe the country will be the next in line to recognize and regulate the decentralized currency much like Japan. There have been several meetings and discussions with lawmakers like Parliament member Kirit Somaiya, Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, and many other figureheads. Kirit Somaiya has made some negative comments about bitcoin over Twitter in the past, but has recently listened to citizen feedback about regulating the cryptocurrency. This past March, Indian citizens were recently allowed to comment and send feedback on government bitcoin regulation to various politicians. “I have taken up the issue of bitcoin at various levels, you may send your suggestions to me please,” explains Parliament member Kirit Somaiya this past spring via Twitter. Many Senior Officials Attend Indian Finance Minister Arun Jaitley’s Inter-Ministerial Meeting Now according to sources familiar with Indian government officials, the Finance Minister Jaitley’s inter-ministerial meeting discussed bitcoin regulation after hearing the public’s opinion. Attendees of the meeting included Economic Affairs Secretary Tapan Ray, IT Minister Ravi Shankar Prasad, NITI Aayog Vice Chairman Arvind Panagariya, Home Secretary Rajiv Mehrishi, Financial Services Secretary Anjuly Chib Duggal, and a variety of other Indian lawmakers. Although Indian bureaucrats like Kirit Somaiya are skeptical of bitcoin, Jaitley has asked fellow lawmakers and citizens in the past to embrace the digital age and prepare for a cashless “mission mode” after last November’s demonetization. “Some of the banks have already had a lot of success, contrary to the argument which is made within the political system that Indians are not well adapted to this mode,” Jaitley said at the time. India’s Media Headlines Say Bitcoin Regulation is Favorable Among Officials Regulating virtual currencies in India has brought a lot of attention to the country’s official stance on bitcoin. This past April, legislators created a committee dedicated to researching the various risks and benefits in regards to India legally recognizing the cryptocurrency. On June 20 Bitcoin.com reported on a local Indian CNBC broadcast that stated most of the committee members said they were in favor of regulatory guidelines for virtual currencies. It seems from Indian news outlets, and regional publication headlines, the Finance Ministry, Jaitley, and the Interdisciplinary Committee will be revealing the outcome of bitcoin regulation soon. Sources say no official decisions were made at Jaitley’s private event but “several issues concerning bitcoin were discussed.”

I want you to meet my Dad, David Zammuto.
He is 59. Born in 1957.
He has 9 brothers, 2 sons and over 40 nieces/nephews
I am also David, number 1 of David Zammuto's 2 kids.
I have his name. Someday I will pass it on.
People who know dad, know him as a person whos dedicated his entire life helping others, loved ones or otherwise. His entire work career has been spent in the mental health field helping those less fortunate. He is a simple man and the greatest role model.
--- I know him as my dad who gave me a ciggarette at the age of 9, knowing the taste and the smell would be permanently deter me from every picking up the habit. I know him as my dad who let me buy a scratch ticket at 12, which I lost. I lost a weeks worth of earnings in an instant and never did that again. I know him as my dad who gave me my first drink at 14 , teaching me firsthand life is much better lucid and sober than being drunk and sick. I know him as the greatest influencer in my life and my rock. I cannot picture a life without him in it and I love him dearly. I sit here, at age 29 , with the strength to try my hardest everyday. I want to impress him because he has impressed me. He has taught me the fundamentals of life, positivity, the importance of family, my values, steered my beliefs, built my strong foundation on faith, and shown me unconditional love. ![medad.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmURuq34efGmirU3TWZR7QCBCLhtecEwqBYSq6odQLBz6Z/medad.jpg)
Here is his story - leading up to this painful last week.
Dad was born in Massachusetts to Mabel and Frank Zammuto. ![dad young.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdobVAXPdznk3ecoFzfFiqP66VqebuJvm4rnEy5is3gTE/dad%20young.jpg) He has 9 brothers, including 1 identical brother, who is ten minutes older than him (can you guess his identical brother from the pics?) ![10 brothers1.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZPGFKsTX6mKJGXHTSihGT2aNGb9dAdT8DtHmaKyTmkJk/10%20brothers1.jpg) ![10 brothers.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmbg61q1nME24pHFksGFdiEAWXeqbztcXmwTGSGF7LsKmp/10%20brothers.jpg) Mabel (my grandmother, I call her nana) grew up on a farm in Nova Scotia. ![P1070163.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmTbRTTV65scNZ55NxheUnEi5sRybQKLB6wTZAXfdtFBWW/P1070163.jpg) Frank (my grandfather) died when my dad was 12 in a car accident. He was a first generation Italian. Mabel and Frank met in Boston and made a huge loving family. Nana (and Frank) gave birth to 10 children. Yes, 10 and they were all boys... ![10 brothers 2.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQAimikHm4wSqv7CTKD17veKKC7RZdzsotBM6VGdZWU8m/10%20brothers%202.jpg) ![Screenshot (2).png](https://steemitimages.com/DQmPYNjLg4fv4QFUANqk5qSKVRRey77MVwqhDs1bDdXQUio/Screenshot%20(2).png) statistically, thats less than a .01% chance (1 out of 10,000) of having 10 boys but she did it. Nana once told me after having her 6th child she knew she'd never have a girl! Nana also told me she ran out of names for all her children. Imagine coming up with 20 different boys names, (10 first names and 10 middle names) ###
Nana just had her 98th birthday on June 24th!
    ![nana 98th.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmUXrdhvfvoNj28VbF9ZTWQJMdxMRahdPhYs9miukXGMFz/nana%2098th.jpg) ---
There were so many kids in my dads household growing up, they had their own baseball team of just Zammuto's, (true story). ![P1070228.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmNPcLKhfkfXwV3X3qvr8yGoJYw1DiR9v38qEZd2YB6Vvk/P1070228.jpg) After Frank died, times were tough for nana and the kids , money was hard to come by and so was food. They all made the best of it. Through positivity they got through it. Through positivity, we will get through these tough times. Through positivity, we can overcome all obstacles in life.

I am thankful my parents dealt with me and never turned their back on me. I don't know where my life would be if they did and I don't want to think about it. My dad has a real italian temper - going from 0-100 in an instant so it was tough to know as a child how far I could push until it was too late. I was a tortorous kid...
    ![mebaby.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYbPv1SKnsbJ8Ynx5GY3Xbn3xaC51o5m5W44FjR35eRKd/mebaby.jpg)
I remember one vacation... ![usyoung.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmdRe1ytXJaRJC2u6DAzxpWzt4ApzZRspWVrpa3tiSCmjJ/usyoung.jpg) It was just my dad and like 7 of us kids (remember huge family) , we were all ages 6-9 at this point and behaving badly. All of us kids were setting each other off. This escalated into everyone throwing absolutely everything at each other. This happened on the day we were leaving from the trip so instead of cleaning up , we were doing the exact opposite.. There was so much mess everywhere! I had one cousin trying to be helpful, he took all of our mess and had no idea what to do with it so he put it into the middle of the room. My dad was screaming the entire time for us to stop. My dad was past the point of return and he had to step outside to cool off. When he left, for some reason we thought this was an OK to keep going at it. When he re-entered from trying to cool off, He bolted straight past us to the organized mess on the ground and kicked it with such a force, with such an unbelievable kick - I remember, simultaneously, being instantly bewildered AND impressed at how far everything went in every direction. My entire being was so frightened at this point, I was scared sh*tless. I thought I was going to be the next thing kicked into oblivion but not just me, we ALL KNEW he was going to rip our heads off and it was every child for himself. We all scattered. We were scared. We were screaming bloody murder. We were crying and pissing ourselves - and all of us just hoping we weren't going to be the one he caught. Serves us right for being little sh*ts. ___ ___ ___ My family has lived in the same house our entire lives. My dad and his brothers built our house in the 1980s. My parents planned my birth and I am grateful everyday that I was meant to be here. Knowing my parents love me more than anything is the greatest gift I could have ever asked for. I thank god everyday to have the best parents. ![dadme.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmex4eFmnWdqwcsNWHsMWHoCnt8L1RwAUVStHahzKeVbGd/dadme.jpg) Recently, about two months ago.. Dad and I were at Mcdonalds. He got a small soda and something off the dollar menu. (at first he wanted to share a small soda... I said, "no dad, I'll buy you your own soda, don't be cheap") When he recieved the soda, he looked me dead in the eye and said, very seriously, # "Davey, guard my soda while I'm at the bathroom." I waited till he reached the restroom to crack up laughing. Thats my dad for you - stopping soda thieves since '57 The only thing my dad hates more than soda theives is hospitals... He hates hospitals more than anything. The hospital was the last place he saw his father, back when he was 12 years old and ever since then, understandably, he hates being there. He has been to a hospital once in the last 2 decades, when my grandmother broke her hip... That is until last thursday, the 15th. The worst day of my life. At the time, my dad had been having chest pain for three straight days*. Under the urgency of my mother, my father reluctantly scheduled an appointment with his PCP. Thankfully, in hindsight, his PCP was able to see him that day. If not, there may have been a different outcome. He drew blood and told my dad to go to the hospital, as soon as possible, due to elevated white blood cell coints. On June 16th, Dad was admitted to the ICU at Leahey Clinic in Burlington, MA. X-rays were done ![x-ray1.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmXp8KVHoFLfkefmAQqDPmqSNBA4D59FHuCuwcURAP4aQA/x-ray1.jpg) ![x-ray2.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmazKHuM8kYbYEV57uGNunHxRMRXwqhPsMFBsKhpZ1k1zH/x-ray2.jpg) X-rays revealed not just 1 major block preventing the flow of blood but TWO major blood clots/blocks. My dad suffered a heart attack! My old man is indestructable and nothing like this is ever suppose to happen. I was floored when I found out, just surreal and unreal, ##### I sobbed uncontrollably for the first time in my life. Dad needed emergency surgery where a balloon catheter was inserted into his femoral artery and came out of his neck. The long cable went all the way to the blockage and inserted stents to hold up the walls of the artery. ![femoral.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmeYkZ2R21yDVgKc6g8kpVqh4vy5yakieErBSSZYg4TuvK/femoral.jpg) After the procedure, my dad developed pnenomia which labored his breathing heavily to the point where he said he could no longer breath and needed an oxygen supply to help with his breathing. Poor dad! He was weak during this time, he could not eat and dropped down to less than 140 pounds while at the hospital. ![dadsleepinghospital.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmU9tnMP7X9fZ8fHtc8xWiRYwjNp6pNTE4ixayVZu3PCKA/dadsleepinghospital.jpg) My dad is a trooper. He said the experience was a nightmare. He was awake for the whole procedure. Thankfully the procedure was a success. The thing to know about my dad is he's always smiling. He is the only person that I know who smiles when hes sleeping. Yes, he smiles when he's sleeping, everytime he sleeps. Here he is smiling after almost losing his life and coming out the otherside still on top. ![dad hospital smiling.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmY7ZyfuHTCjKiq9MDWauKDRTkaHEQvDXWK8iEVhFaTtGA/dad%20hospital%20smiling.jpg) My dads twin came and visited him around this time. The nurses thought he was my dad! One of them nearly fainted thinking my dad was up and walking around. ![daddannyhospital.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmVj5xR7a6pe1GmMqAumnFN91vsTL8tD1eTxg2nPxbSzgV/daddannyhospital.jpg) ___ ___ ------------- My father was released a few day ago from the hospital. He is currently on 7 different drugs, 3 of which he will need for the rest of his life. He still has stents in his arteries. He will be going back to the hospital next week. I think the doctors are waiting to see if the clot comes back. I dont know. All I know is I have my dad back home with us for the time being. My old man is finally back home. We do not when he can go back to work. His breathing is still labored and he is having some trouble talking. He is not back to full health. His spirits are not at 100% and he is currently bound to his chair with little mobility. Tasks that empowered him before the heart attack - such as mowing the lawn, changing the cars oil, taking out the trash, he will never be able to do again. I'm asking for your support... _**Will you upvote this , resteem it and/or write words of encouragement in the comment section below? I want my dad to know there is a community "on the internets"(as he says) that cares about him. This will mean the world to him. I want to present my dad with a physically framed picture containing all words of positivity that he can hang next to his chair, where he sits as he heals. I will film this. Please help dad fight the good fight This was difficult for me to write but I thank you for taking the time to learn about my old man.**_ *Thank you STEEMIT for being such a wonderful platform with such a strong sense of community!* ![dad me today.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmR9mDoUEmUKLDygvaepJQ8TEq77EVQab4zhD6SgBdTBCp/dad%20me%20today.jpg) # Dad, I WILL protect your soda, always. The number 1 problem facing the world today is DEBT!!!

    the-number-1-problem-facing-the-world-today-is-debt

I want to talk about debt; the number 1 problem facing the world is debt. Everyone is borrowing money like it’s free, but nothing is free unless you’re a banker or a government. The entire industrialized world is drowning in debt at all levels private, business and public, almost all these countries are roughly 70% consumption based economies. These same countries have a debt based monetary system, which means for anyone who wants to repay their debt, someone else has to borrow that money into existence. ![sb2.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmZVhiqU7T9AXJEQvQ9e87DB6wLWgR5DMNBnkQ5sj8Rz43/sb2.jpg) So where does this leave us, if the entire population is drowning in debt who is going to borrow the money to keep the debt expanding, which it must so the debtors can continue to service their loans? If the lending slows because of market saturation there is less money for people to service their debts, and continue to spend to support a 70% CONSUMER based economy. Once this cycle starts to turn down the pool of available money will shrink, the shrinking pool will go more towards paying down the debt instead of consuming. Less consuming will cause job losses that increases unemployment, which will shrink the pool of new borrowers even further. This is the precise reason that all governments have massively increased their debt loads to step in and fill the void of less people borrowing. ![sb.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmQTZqANLjPbXVsWkKHJUdWKnbzLPv5jQcoLHpvhdKPCsP/sb.jpg) I can’t see any way out of this situation and the eventual outcome will be a devastating deflationary spiral that will make the great depression look like a picnic. This problem cannot be fixed; it can only be postponed, which is exactly what central banks are doing. This is why we have had record low interest rates globally for an entire decade, which has never happened in the history of mankind. By lowering the rates globally they are tempting the remaining pool of borrowers to dive in and help postpone the inevitable as well as printing money like there is no tomorrow, because this is what they fear no tomorrow. But to finish off with a happier story, you don’t have to suffer like the majority. Just get at least some of your money out of this collapsing casino and buy some precious metal life preservers for your family. ![g&sb.jpg](https://steemitimages.com/DQmYJrha6TWNTYW4ezM5QA4xG4JvLUaWhDueqff5NoVzEfe/g%26sb.jpg) Thanks for the visit to my post.
