A Huge Jump in Indian Market amid Coronavirus

    April 07, 2020
    a-huge-jump-in-indian-market-amid-coronavirus

Today (7th April 2020), BSE Sensex jumps around 9 percent which is a big relief for all the investors. It is the biggest one day jump after May 2009 i.e. after 11 years. Being a small-time investor, it's always a feel-good factor to see your holdings go up. I was mainly investing in Financial and got a big hit last month and my portfolio was down around 30%. Today my portfolio rose around 9%. Though I am investing in Mutual Funds from the last 3-4 years, I have started the stocks trading or rather investing from this year itself. Along with getting a hit, I am not worried because I know in 3-4 months the market will bounce back and you will see everything in green. All the top investors are saying that you should invest some amount now with a time horizon of 3-4 years after keeping sufficient liquidity for any emergencies. I basically have 3 stocks as of now in my portfolio, in which HDFC bank has got a big hit. Though I am optimistic that in the future it will give me good returns. I have added few SBI Cards share last Friday because the price seems to be good for long term. ![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmcrL8NiADiqyZG4YyteA8Y3NTJV348R8YD4MA9bkTQPCG/image.png) Along with the above stocks, I am keeping my eye on these below stocks and will be getting those as and when I will have some money. ![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmXXGPbZvqCUzVQt5h6MRuUMRX3mwwtzEJs6zY7KdHZb7C/image.png)

What you should not do in Lockdown

    April 04, 2020
    what-you-should-not-do-in-lockdown

The Government of India on 24th March ordered a nationwide lockdown for 21 days, limiting movement as a preventive measure against the 2020 coronavirus pandemic. India's population is around 1.3 billion, and keeping everyone at home is a very tough task, though the government handled it very well. ![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQma6ydsioPvmVtAxNsnJnrSNnbxt7hHug8BU2z2s2BogrA/image.png) This lockdown does not mean curfew, you can still go out to buy medicine and groceries. It's advisable that only 1 person per family should go out and also not on a daily basis. I have a family of 3 stays near my house, yesterday the man went to a shop to buy a hair dye. The shopkeeper handed him the packet and said that you shouldn't come to the market if you do not have any critical requirements. The man started abusing verbally saying he is no one to tell him about the rules of lockdown. This is what, you should not do in a lockdown. It's our duty to support the government to fight this battle, they are fighting for us and thus they want us to stay home and only come out of the home when its very necessary like getting medicines or groceries.

    Covid-19 Update - India

    April 03, 2020
    covid-19-update-india

There was a sharp increase in numbers in positive Coronavirus cases in India from the last 4-5 days only because of the stupidity of some people. Though still, we are in control but given the number of the population we have, it will be really difficult in the coming days to control this pandemic, especially in India. At the time of writing, there are 2640 Positive cases, out of which 192 has recovered whereas 72 are dead. ![image.png](https://images.hive.blog/DQmYLkzGZ2L3xLhtFKBjWi5xupXNGvB9zRiVNqpqbBfNC24/image.png) PC: https://www.covid19india.org/ Living in Bangalore I can say that people here are following the lockdown quite seriously and it's good. But I am afraid what will happen after 14th April when the lockdown is lifted. People will start going out in large numbers which will make the virus spread again. Till now people were thinking that how to test if they have coronavirus or not. One of the reason was no one can walk simply and ask the doctors to do the test and other was it is a little risky to go to that hospital where the tests are going on. The good news is Bengaluru-based startup BIONE has launched India's first at-home testing kit for COVID-19. This kit as claimed by BIONE is very easy to use and it can display accurate results within minutes. This kit is also approved by the Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), displays accurate results within minutes. If you want to test, you need to clean your finger with an alcohol swab and use the lancet provided to finger-prick. The cartridge provided reads the results from the blood sample within 5-10 minutes. Stay Home and Stay Safe

    Hive On Amid Janta Curfew

    March 22, 2020
    hive-on-amid-janta-curfew

Today in India we are observing Janta Curfew for 14 hours from 7 am to 9 pm, which is Curfew (Care for you) by the people and for the people. This is a baby step effort to combat coronavirus spread. Though the need for the hour is total shutdown which will happen in the coming days, this day is just to show people how it looks to be inside Home and observe curfew. So I am here on Hive amid Janta Curfew. Though being not so social person for me it doesn't matter if I go out or not and I can stay home for long if I have an Internet connection (which is a must) or a good book. But today since everyone at home, the internet speed has literally came down. #HiveON

    Corona Virus Update - India

    March 20, 2020
    corona-virus-update-india

Though India is in an early stage of the Corona Virus outbreak, we still need to be very careful from now on. We need to start Social Distancing as well as reducing going out. Along with that, our Prime Minister urged everyone that on Sunday we should observe Janta Curfew for 14 hours. It can be done for numerous reasons. Janata Curfew is voluntarily staying indoors by people themselves. The reasons can be to break the chain of spreading the virus, people get feel of how to stay indoors when the situation worsens i.e. mock drill. If anyone wants to know about the cases in India or in their state can refer to the website [https://covidout.in/](https://covidout.in/). ![image.png](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmcSSNNDRytoU1YXBATxWttAvo2kKBsQRBqTPfmJfmwgGj/image.png) PC : CovidOut In my case, I am working from home, from the last week and it will continue for at least 2 weeks. We have got enough food to sustain ourselves for 2 weeks just in case. Stay Human in the time of Corona Crisis

    March 19, 2020
    stay-human-in-the-time-of-corona-crisis

There are newspaper reports of people getting detected with Covid-19 and how because of them, other people are getting infected. But they don't understand that the infected person will not know if they are infected with a virus or not. It's easy to blame, these papers don't realize that tomorrow any one of us can be a carrier. Yesterday there was a report that a Kolkata man came from London was tested positive after 3 days and people started blaming him because he was the first case in Kolkata. They even threatened to kill him on Social Media. Instead of blaming him we must remain humane in these difficult times. What we as an Indian or anyone can do is to maintain Social Distancing, this is the only way we can stop the virus. ![](https://calmatters.org/wp-content/uploads/sites/2/2020/03/social-distancing.jpg?fit=1024%2C561) PC : CalMatters.org Doctors said that not everyone has to wear a mask, but I would suggest wearing a handkerchief at least and wash it every day with Dettol or any disinfectant, this is just a way to protect yourself and your family. Also, you should stop going out for unnecessarily, its not a joke anymore. We should take an example from Italy, we can stop this virus if every one of us do our part. One man can do a diffence. Stay Human and Be Safe

    we-won-indiawelcomescrypto

Today is the biggest day for the entire crypto community in India because the Supreme Court has rejected Reserve Bank of India’s (RBI) banking ban on Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies. We all have won as because we were fighting this battle for the last 2 years. #IndiaWelcomesCrypto Now since the Supreme Court has given its verdict, banking access to buy cryptos should pick up again. This will provide liquidity and easy access to the market for many exchanges to come in.

    Arena Tab added to StepSetGo

    January 06, 2020
    arena-tab-added-to-stepsetgo

As I already posted about StepSetGo, I am not gonna rant about the app again. But today there was a feature added to the app which I guess takes the challenge to the next level, it's called Arena. So the app give coins based on the steps you walk daily, but people tend to reach their maximum limit and then stop it. This Arena helps them to challenge them more to get extra coins. ![ktlmwiiqcy.png](https://img.esteem.ws/ktlmwiiqcy.png) There are three challenges as of now, but only one activated till now. 1. First challenge is about completing 80000 steps in 7 days i.e. approximately 11500 per day. 2. Second one is about completing 10000 steps in one day, that seams to be the easiest one. 3. The third is little bit challenging as it's asking you to get 250000 steps in 30 days. I have already started the first challenge and got my 11400 steps done for the day. Hopefully I will be able to walk the same amount of steps everyday. The good thing about it is that in 7 days you will get weekends so even if you could not walk more steps on weekdays you can make up on weekends. Have you started walking and tracking your steps?
