A Different Perspective - Fish Eye View

    September 11, 2019
    a-different-perspective-fish-eye-view

Mysore Palace is a historical palace in Mysore City which is one of the tourist places in Mysore or I must say in Karnataka. The best part for people with DSLR visiting Mysore Palace is that you can click n number of pictures which is not the case for any other palace I have visited. I happen to get a fish-eye view of Mysore Palace, and it came out really well, better than I thought. Though I did not have any Wide-Lens or Fish-Eye View Lens, the view is inbuilt in Camera 200D. It was a little cloudy that day, which somehow helped my cause otherwise there would have been overlapping clouds in the blue sky wouldn't have given a great shot I believe. ![IMG_1508.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmSeLXvudsVATpvhrDdan9Gfaeaz7NvKzMZZ42ptmhbdaG) Camera | Canon 200 D --- | --- Lens | EF-S 18-55mm Aperture | F/9.0 Exposure | 1/400 ISO | 100

    A Visit to Mango Festival

    September 10, 2019
    a-visit-to-mango-festival

We have gone to celebrate the mango festival in Lalbagh this year. The best part of this festival was that you can buy different varieties of mango in cheap and also without worrying about the quality as the mangoes are organic and grown naturally.

Note: The festival was from May 2019 to June 2019.
It was also a good knowledge session to know these many varieties of mangos because normally we came across 2-3 varieties of mango only. ### Few facts: >1. Mango, the "King of Fruits" is an important fruit crop popular for its taste and nutritional benefits. >2. The fruit has its origin in Indo-Burma region. >3. In India about 40 varieties are commercially grown across various states in tropical, Sub-tropical and coastal areas. >4. Cultivated in an area of 25.16 lak hectares with production of 184.31 lak tonnes in India. ![IMG_1333.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmTLsYZyUNP4ZwhAvq3dtJt8T9ynz3S5hKz7UUsLQamEib) In the above image, you can see Lal Muni, Nazuk Badam and Ostin. Since we were not allowed to go closer the photos were not that clear. Few more varieties are : ### Ostin ![IMG_1329.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/Qma5GJY4YzfVnwVdJ3MAxahCu8QYDTAAs21GYRZW1foMrM) ### Amrapali ![IMG_1330.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmWvBokEBRdYVYnqJcr4TsRQk4V6ezrcZuaqeXtL3wVvzS) ### And my favorite : Alphanso ![IMG_1332.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmX65hJBdCu8ZXZLJfciM9kpD87ySucsPq7LSSVPY9RsDD) There were a lot of people attending the festival as who will not buy the organic mangoes in cheap price. ![IMG_1337.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmeKEKgUH5fkMYc7XGs4dCVLGzLuADZcwAuVcBHgw6SRnP) ![IMG_1342.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmUv5yy1MY7fDaqBofgy7c92bMieD8FUPZcQtAupKApR6L) ![IMG_1341.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmZvjX7HbYH7nF1sQwRLFF4TVrSTF2AS96NLkbtPgFzrrc) One thing I liked about this festival is that all the sellers were farmers who have come all the way from their native village which is around 200-250 km to sell these mangoes and earn a livelihood. There was no middleman involved which means all the money goes directly to the farmer and they will live happily for the rest of the year and prepare for the next year. So if you happen to be in Bangalore in May or June next year, do plan to visit the Mango Festival and buy some tasty mangoes. Bdw I got the box full of Mango this year : ![IMG_1335.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmaopawpW6z4EWXJg6GAJLnfVYLP1VfKqTfTgkxr5UbEue)

    an-awesome-architecture

When we talk about architecture we often see all the new buildings which comes up everyday which makes us go feel wow. But we often forget about the architecture of temples, mosque or church which was made decades ago. The architecture I am talking about is the below temple in Mysore. ![slfi6ohv7w.jpg](https://img.esteem.ws/slfi6ohv7w.jpg) As you can see the architecture which is awesome. It might not be that great of the architecture among other temple but it is one of the top most.

Is Agile a waste of Time

    September 08, 2019
    is-agile-a-waste-of-time

Agile is a Software Process maps where you have a series of meetings, metrics are calculated and reports are generated to monitor software teams, that fairly they are doing with their development. These meetings re mainly done by non-technical people who simply don't understand the basic requirement. They asks us to write estimate about the feature we will be working on and then end of the task they will match all the estimates with the actual. Now the simple equation of software world is that you cannot estimate it correctly because of any unforeseen reason, but they want it to improve our estimates from the next time onwards. This type of agile is simply waste of time where you are not giving any benefit to the people other than wasting their time and pushing them to work on a deadline even when the deadline is not their, thus increasing the stress. What should be done in agile is to have a discussions between the team about how to create better software without spending too much time on non-technical stuff. There should be meeting twice a week to know what going well and what not. If you are stuck, if any one else knows the answer, or how you can try to solve it. One simple thing I know is that if the development team is not feeling satisfied with any process than you should throw it away to make them comfortable with any process they like. I agree that some or the other Dev will have a problem with any process but you need to keep them happy too. In agile we do retrospective which is great because then you know what went well and what not, but here also it should be only telling that "this should be done better next time" which is not a correct retrospective. The correct retrospective is where you will discuss the problems you face in the entire software life cycle and how you can rectify it next time. Teams will discuss ideas and will surely try to solve it by themselves.

    In One Line

    in-one-line

This image was taken in Lal Bagh, Bangalore. As you can see, the gardener has done a lot of effort to make these trees fall inline. ![IMG_1242.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmVGHFkcGc4uvqo38cFeCEV5Pu5sSb9Y6JvPWLZgdNPURh) If you check it from a little distance, you can see all are of the same size and it looks like everyone copies each other. ![IMG_1202.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmNi2J7CKueQSHqL4hrzWKAd8eT1WWWGDSmEmEeKqxg7sk) Just to check it little further, I went inside it to see how it looks like, and as you can see all the trees have a fixed distance between those. ![IMG_1241.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmTFP3vD5dJeeyWBTiWPNfqGXbeVQ9PNEYLzpZtueP22Dk)

This Innocent looking monkey is not innocent I must say, they create a lot of problem for people traveling with bag or even water bottle. I had to literally carry a stick to keep them away even though they tried to snatch my bag to see if I am carrying any food item or not. ![IMG_0973.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmUz3GaDSGhfESP3ACA8Bn31s78wqRSK24x1dv5FdFxJmb/IMG_0973.jpg) Camera | Canon 200 D --- | --- Lens | EF-S 18-55mm Aperture | F/7.1 Exposure | 1/320 ISO | 100

Why Unit Testing is Developer's Best Friend

    September 04, 2019
    why-unit-testing-is-developer-s-best-friend

We all know about never stopping fight between the developers and testers in the Software Development and how both of them put their best foot forward to state that they are correct. Being in the industry for quite some time I can say that none of those two are always correct and none of those are always false. ![d80nr8prne.jpg](https://img.esteem.ws/d80nr8prne.jpg) PC: Pinterest.io Now in some organisation as a developer your incentive or your yearly reivew directly proportional on how many bugs has been encountered on your feature. Thus we developers always wants to give as buggy feature as much as possible. But being a developer we always miss some edgy case. Now this is where the unit test can come into picture. Let's take an example of a React app where almost everything is been written as a component. Inside a component we have a lot of components life cycle as well as some functions. Now whenever I write a function I make sure that function should have been pass through unit tests with multiple inputs. If it passes I can continue writing more functions. In that way you are not only following the test driven development but also you know all the possible values your function can get and how to not miss those edgy case. One more thing I tend to follow is that more than 90% of the lines of code which I write should have an equivalent test case written which means that my code coverage should always show percentage more than 90. Though it's easy to say than done because of the tight deadline or any thing which developer has to consider. But when you follow agile first thing to do it to allocate some time for unit test too along with writing case in that way everyone will know that if you want less buggy software you need to give time to the developer for testing his own feature.

We all carve for this type of shade whenever we walk/run in sunlight to get some fresh air and protect ourselves from direct sunlight. These trees are like a lifeline for all of us and it's always our duty to protect them for our betterment. ![IMG_1183.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmPVZQ7xcFFUpRhw1NyXuxzeHgQvEQz7LTLvgsm5wKvud4/IMG_1183.jpg) Camera | Canon 200 D --- | --- Lens | EF-S 18-55mm Aperture | F/4.5 Exposure | 1/250 ISO | 200 ----

The pigeons are commonly seen near the Sankey Tank Lake, Bangalore and people go there to give grains to these pigeons. Sometimes their numbers goes upto 50 to 100. Though I have not seen those many numbers especially in Sankey Tank at least. ![IMG_0860_01.jpg](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmby8mtaqjJHBFAaQ37CrbCi3fRzP3VMf8EpPykzGQUQSW/IMG_0860_01.jpg) Camera | Canon 200 D --- | --- Lens | EF-S 18-55mm Aperture | F/5.6 Exposure | 1/160 ISO | 100 ----

Why I am investing more in Debt than Equity

    August 29, 2019
    why-i-am-investing-more-in-debt-than-equity

This is the Analysis of my Mutual Fund Investment done on Groww App. ![3scumuueda.png](https://img.esteem.ws/3scumuueda.png) As you can see almost 65% is invested in Debt and only 35% in equity. Though everyone says that whenever you have age by your side you should invest more on equity and less on debt because equity gives more returns in a long run. I agree to that point but I don't want to take much risk for this. The only thing which I am doing as of now is that whenever I have some money left in a month I am investing lump sum in Debt mutual fund because I know that will never give me negative returns. And all the sip I have is of equity mutual fund to balance any negative returns. Thus in the current scenario I know even if I will not get more returns my investment will not go in negative and also debt comes with an option of almost nil exit load that means even if I redeem my investment I don't have to pay any tax on it which is not the case in equity where you have to invest more than 3 years normally. What do you think is this the right strategy?
