My 2-Day Budget Trip to Mysore from Bangalore

    October 03, 2019
    my-2-day-budget-trip-to-mysore-from-bangalore

Though Mysore is just 150 KMs away from Bangalore but it can become expensive if you are travelling with a toddler. There are quite a number of buses operate between Mysore and Bangalore which will charge you around 600 INR / 7$ for a one day trip to Mysore. But the problem with this type of trip operators is that they will give you limited time to explore the places and also they will take you to predefined places. Though if you are a budget traveller you can actually use these types of buses to visit important places in Mysore, but if you are travelling with a toddler it's better to keep some time in hand and explore the places at your own pace. This is what I have done. To keep my schedule less hectic I have taken a train to and from Bangalore to Mysore which comes 250 INR / 4$ to and fro. Since all the hotels have check-in at 12 PM, I have taken a train at 08:45 AM (MYSURU EXPRESS - 16316) which takes around 2 and a half hours from Bangalore. I have also pre-booked my hotel which came around 650 INR / 10$ since the discount was going on. I have started around 7:30 AM from my home, boarded the train and reached Mysore at 11:40 AM. You will get a lot of Tuk-Tuk from the railway station which will charge around 30-50 INR / less than 1$ to take you to the city centre. Since my hotel is very near to the Mysore Bus Stand, I paid the tuk-tuk guy around 50 Rs and he dropped me directly to the hotel. While my wife and kid were relaxing at the hotel, I have hired a Scooty from Bounce, which cost me around 500 INR + 200 INR for fuel / 10$, thus I don't have to pay those hefty amounts to tuk-tuk or taxis. We have started around 12:15 PM from our hotel and reached [Mysore palace](https://steemit.com/india/@codingdefined/photoristic-travel-to-mysore-palace). It took us close to 2 hours to complete the whole tour. As I have mentioned earlier that tour guys will give you only 1 hour to come back from Mysore Palace. So if you would like to explore, do take your time to view the artistic beauty of Mysore palace. ![image.png](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmeKPiVCzZUkH6iPu4VEZYAfQEwhosmHPgDBGdg7h9Nbkj) At 2:30 PM we had our lunch at the Veg Restaurant and then we went back to our hotel as my kid falls asleep. We again started from the hotel at around 5 PM to visit the Brindavan Gardens, we choose night time because there used to be a water fountain show at night. ![IMG_1511.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmcfZ4sGSbTaNpYNRgYZJURkEgdCjMa82NP8sEZ3yEp4AL) ![IMG_1528.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/Qmb2gTv2MMHpPa31qiE9sGRunabgRaUM5BiLNSgkwsykSp) Not only that you will also to do boating around the lake. Please be informed that Brindavan Gardens also are known as KRSDAM or Krishnarajasagara Dam and very few people know it by Brindavan gardens. Also if you are using Google Map, it will take you to the back gate of Brindavan Gardens which remains closed so you need to ask people about the direction when you are around 2-3 KMs away from the Garden. At around 8 PM we have returned from Brindavan gardens and it took us around 40 minutes to reach Mysore, we had our dinner and we called it a day. We have started Day 2 thinking where to visit first - Zoo or Chamundi Hills. We have settled it with Zoo because being a Sunday, Zoo might get crowded in the noon. The Zoo opens at 8:30 AM and we reached there by around 9:00 AM. ![IMG_1643.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmYHmZakQpHXtahEKovoso8C12s2UVEnqehpHAQpJNzQea) You will see a lot of animals and it is one of the best Zoo I have visited, I can say it is much much better than Bannergatta National Park, Bangalore. My Kid enjoyed it and if you have a kid with you this is a must-visit. Also, note that the tour guys will not take you to the Zoo. ![IMG_1566.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmdXkjRE9kGYt8qSooer8gnKMzB7NzLPS21Q3FcT7ryzzQ)

    ![IMG_1633.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmXUkhLNWeYUDQRKjp9CjvpR9X7XTaynSMQHDaqfWHifxb)
It took us around 3 hours to visit the whole Zoo and I must say we were tired like hell. We then went to Chamundi hills to visit the Chamundeshwari temple which is located at the top of the Chamundi Hills. Since there were too many people we have taken a ticket to get entry fast, I know its unethical but since we were having less time we need to take this route. You will love the greenery while going to the top of the hill and also you can view the whole of Mysore from the top. After reaching Mysore again we had our lunch, got our luggage and then dropped the vehicle and reached Mysore Railway Station. Our train was at 5 PM from Mysore and reached Bangalore around 8 PM. So the cost involved are 1. Travelling to and fro from Bangalore: 250 INR X 2 2. Tuk-Tuk from Railway Station to Hotel - 50 INR 3. Hotel - 650 INR 4. Scooty - 700 INR 5. Mysore palace Entry - 40 INR X 2 6. Brindavan Gardens Entry - 15 INR X 2 7. Mysore Zoo Entry - 60 INR X 2 8. Chamundi Hills Ticket - 100 INR X 2 9. Tuk-Tuk from Hotel to Railway Station - 50 INR 10. Food - 1500 INR Total - Around 4000 INR or 56 $. You can actually cut your cost more, like on food or Chamundi hills ticket. But for 2 people for 2-day travel to Mysore Rs. 4000 is OK.

Do you abandon your old dog?

    September 28, 2019
    do-you-abandon-your-old-dog

In India, we value our relationship too much be it blood relation or heart relation and it's very rare scenario that we abandon any one. But yesterday I got a query from my friend and does arise the question that do you abandon your old dog. ![qpdwcxyrx0.jpg](https://img.esteem.ws/qpdwcxyrx0.jpg) PC: Today Show Yesterday I had a discussion with my friend who is very frustated with his old dog as he has to take him to doctor every other day. He was thinking of abandoning the dog and asking me if I know any fog shelter. I asked him simple question will he abandon his parents if they gets old. He said no, because they are his blood relation. Which made me think that does people value relationship only if they have blood relation. I think that heart relation should be valued more than blood relation. And our relation with the dog just like any other heart relation or I think it's better than any other because they are totally dependent on us. Coincidentally I have seen today morning that an owner taking his old dog for a walk. The dog was not able to walk properly even though the owner patiently walking with him. I could not get a picture otherwise I would have sent it to my friend telling that this is how you should take care of your dog rather than abondoning it. Dog are the most loyal pet, they will love you unconditionally and it return they just want a little love. My parents don't like dog so because of that I cannot keep a dog at home but I make sure I feed some dog in the street. I get love from them too and thus I don't have to keep pet at home because they all are my pet. What's your thought?

Do you know about STF Funds?

    September 26, 2019
    do-you-know-about-stf-funds

Recently WazirX (One of the best Crypto Exchanges in India), introduced STF (Smart Token Fund) which means that you will buy a fund of the traders and based on their trading your portfolio will increase or decrease. According to WazirX : >Smart Token Fund is a simplified and never-done-before way to help you grow your cryptocurrency portfolio. STF's aim is to democratise cryptocurrency trading expertise for everyone. You can choose the right STF Trader for yourself based on the tokens they trade, their trading history, performance, and more. The markets look like below, where there is a description of the coin and the latest price and how the trader is doing. ![](https://cdn.steemitimages.com/DQmekbtt5NAyQ5AVmEnWapAdzB9NEU5uzxgsuP4A3WDfJMm/image.png) I find it good because then I do not have to trade my crypto, there is someone who is doing it for me just like Mutual Fund Manager. But the same time you never know that you will be at loss or profit. In Mutual Funds there is some kind of stability or isk factor which will ascertain us that it is high risk or low risk. But here everything seems like High Risk itself. I have invested around 10$ just to see how it works and my portfolio is down a bit because of the recent blood bath in crypto space. You can also try to put some amount to see how it goes, though it's not financial advice.

Mysore Palace is a historical palace in Mysore City which is one of the tourist places in Mysore or I must say in Karnataka. The best part for people with DSLR visiting Mysore Palace is that you can click n number of pictures which is not the case for any other palace I have visited. I have shared the fish-eye view, now I am sharing the full view of Mysore palace. ![IMG_1434_01.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmVQvVmz5B3victeWM4A9UgkmBaUmhSxCzEbKTuqyCEEjE)

I don't support Free Pizza over life risk

    September 23, 2019
    i-don-t-support-free-pizza-over-life-risk

How many of you got the free pizza because the pizza guy did not delivered on time i.e. before 30 minutes. Do you know the pizza guy have to risk his life to get you the pizza on time. It did happen in front of me today. I was going by my motorbike and saw a pizza delivery guy just overtook me, since it was raining an there was a traffic he has to apply brake which makes his motorbike skid and thus he fall. What if there was no traffic and he skids in the middle of the road and get hit by a truck. Which actually made me realise that it's so hard for the pizza guys as they had to risk their life for delivering the pizza on time. Just take an example a guy has ordered a pizza for $10 and if that is not delivered on time it will be deducted from the delivery guy salary, that means around 2.5% of the guys income considering he earns around $400 a month. I do not support this free pizza culture even though it is late because if I have to get the pizza I will order little early rather than asking them to come before 30 minutes. I can say that 50% of my pizza delivery where above 30 minutes even though I have never asked for free pizza because I can pay for that pizza and it's a whole livelihood for the delivery guy. What do you think?

    #### On your product development team, which function is the most important player for setting product vision *** I was going through the Linkedin, and found out this poll shared by Congnizant > Cognizant is an American multinational corporation that provides IT services, including digital, technology, consulting, and operations services. It is headquartered in Teaneck, New Jersey, United States. Cognizant is part of the NASDAQ-100 and trades under CTSH.) In my opinion technology changes quite often but the core functionality does not change much which means strong design is the key for product engineering. I am not saying that you do not need technologists because that is equally important, tomorrow if any technology is obsolete then these leaders will come handy to take that strong design as the base and build an awesome technology layer. What do you think? *** - Technologists *** - Design Leaders *** - Any, lead *** - Both tech & design lead *** *Answer the question at [dpoll.xyz](https://dpoll.xyz/detail/@codingdefined/on-your-product-development-team-which-function-is-the-most-important-player-for-setting-product-vision/).*

On Saturday we have celebrated our daughter's first birthday, it was not a grand birthday party but we have decorated one of our rooms and then invited some of the kids from the neighborhood. We have chosen Mettalic Ballon (Gold, Silver, and Black) so that the photos will be bright and beautiful along with that we have got Golden fringe and the matching text for "Happy Birthday". It turns out to be a great color combination, so if you are planning a birthday party do choose a metallic balloon, your photos will surely be great. ![IMG_1650.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmaAfgHyFsaKYyxLn1yTpaxfZTDdm2kdBzv5yJLpqjiF8N)

I visited Mysore Zoo (also known as Sri Chamarajendra Zoological Gardens) last week. I went there in the morning and none of the animals were seen. Might be because animals were sleepy, then I found this giant looking Rhinoceros, and thus he made my day. ![IMG_1633.jpg](https://ipfs.busy.org/ipfs/QmWzcfohtXpYZbeHGPcnfDetX6KmhMYfM1jVmAfRsFcKEa) Camera | Canon 200 D --- | --- Lens | EF-S 18-55mm Aperture | F/5.6 Exposure | 1/200 ISO | 100
